This is proven by several photos posted by Kensington Palace and also by the US singer on X. The 34-year-old pop icon was on stage in London on Friday for the first of several concerts on her Eras tour.
The palace’s post shows a cheerful Taylor Swift stretching out her arm for a selfie with William and his two older children, Prince George (10) and Princess Charlotte (9).
William even seems a bit shy
The royals’ joy is clearly visible. The children are beaming. William even seems a little shy with a red face and an embarrassed smile – a feeling that the Prince of Wales probably rarely experiences. The post reads: “Thank you Taylor Swift for a great evening!”
The superstar returned the favor with his own post on X, which showed a selfie of the royals with Taylor Swift and her boyfriend, American football player Travis Kelce (34). “Happy Bday M8!” (Happy birthday buddy), it said in British jargon. The abbreviation M8 stands for “mate”.
Videos on social media had previously allegedly shown William dancing wildly to Swift’s song “Shake It Off” in the celebrity area of Wembley Stadium. However, the palace would not confirm whether it was actually the heir to the throne.
