Unusual ranking: These are the most beautiful players of the European Championship according to AI

An artificial intelligence rated the players at the European Championships according to their attractiveness. The AI’s taste is not mainstream.

What happens when you ask artificial intelligence to rate all the players in the European Football Championship according to their attractiveness? A pretty surprising ranking – and probably a few dismayed superstars! The AI chose the most beautiful individual players and the most beautiful teams on average. At least one German footballer was happy about this.

Bayer Leverkusen’s shooting star Florian Wirtz (21) managed to finish in tenth place and thus just into the top 10. The two Italians Gianluca Scamacca (25) and Nicolo Fagioli (23) finished ahead of him, seventh place went to Dutchman Memphis Depay (30) and sixth place to Ukrainian Oleksandr Tymchyk (27).

Fifth place is in Austrian hands – thanks to central defender Flavius Daniliuc (23). The AI saw Serbian Strahinja Pavlović (23) ahead of him. Bronze went to Spaniard Fabián Ruiz (28), while silver went to Pole Taras Romanczuk (32). And in first place? Neither the superstars Cristiano Ronaldo (39), Jude Bellingham (20) or Antoine Griezmann (33) landed there, but the Turk Mert Müldür (25).

Also a surprise when comparing nations

The AI also made a surprising choice when it came to the overall squad. According to “The Sun”, it picked Serbia as the winner, ahead of Italy and Turkey. The DFB players, on the other hand, were disappointed: Germany achieved the third-worst points tally and only finished ahead of France and Switzerland, who had to carry the red lantern of beauty.

Fortunately, at the European Championships, it’s not about appearance, but about what happens on the pitch – and the German selection has presented an extremely attractive style of play so far. The first two games against Scotland and Hungary were won 5-1 and 2-0, securing a place in the round of 16. The match against Switzerland on Sunday evening (9 p.m., Das Erste) is about winning the group.
