This third album, successor to Calambre (2020), with which she won a Latin Grammy, is the final result of an intense search by the artist, an open-ended exploration of the lights and shadows of her life. Very personal, eclectic to the max – that taste for literally mixing everything is one of the keys to the title – GRASA tells the current story of Nathy Peluso.
GRASA evokes many different meanings and cultural subtexts, especially in Argentina, where the word can mean “vulgar.” But Nathy, like her music, doesn’t want to limit herself to one definition: it could be the way she proudly flaunts her body that doesn’t fit the mold of heteronormative expectations, while publicly worshiping a slice of pizza or pasta in their social networks. Or it could evoke the richness of his musical arrangements, or even his zealous and committed attitude of getting his hands dirty in everything he does. He wants to recover the word and make it part of his universe: “For me it is a state of mind, a lifestyle,” he says.
With 16 songs accompanied by their respective videos, which function as chapters of a film, in this work Nathy gives us her role as an actress. For this artist, she only believes in doing everything in a big way. The shows she prepares to premiere these songs live will not be the exception, with a strong visual and scenographic commitment, high-impact choreography and many surprises to put the public in her pocket. True to her taste for collaborations, five songs feature musicians she admires: Blood Orange, CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso, Duki, C. Tangana and Lua de Santana…Fans are already starting to dream about the guests at the shows!
