Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner: Models ride across the Paris catwalk

All happiness in this world lies on the backs of fashionable horses. That is at least what Hermès thought. At the third annual “Vogue World” event in Paris on June 23, the company returned to its roots with the help of Kendall Jenner (28) and Gigi Hadid (29). The famous luxury brand has its origins in saddlery.

After New York and London, the third edition of the annual fashion event took place in Paris, where the Summer Olympics will also start in a few weeks. A combination of 100 years of French fashion history and sport was therefore also the focus of the event, for which the Place Vendôme was transformed into a large catwalk.

In addition to an extremely revealing walk by US singer Katy Perry (39) in an unusual A-line dress, Jenner and Hadid’s animal fashion statement in particular caused a stir. The two top models wore jackets, trousers and boots. And “Django and Napo are also wearing Hermès from head to hoof,” as it says in an excerpt from the animal fashion show, which was published by the fashion magazine “Vogue”.

There were also other equestrian-inspired looks from houses such as Balmain and Jean Paul Gaultier. The two horses come from Normandy, where they live “in a very large stable” according to animal coordinator Valérie Chavanon. The animals are experienced in dealing with crowds and noise and are trained to take part in a cabaret show once or twice a month.

The fashion spectacle took place in front of numerous famous guests – including the acting stars Diane Kruger (47), Norman Reedus (55), Eva Longoria (49), Selma Blair (52) and Jared Leto (52), the musician Pharrell Williams (51), the former tennis player Maria Sharapova (37) and model Shanina Shaik (33). US “Vogue” boss and fashion icon Anna Wintour (74) was also present. Model and actress Cara Delevingne (31).
