A whole series of prominent artists will receive a star on the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame in the future.
Stars of the US entertainment industry in Los Angeles regularly receive a star on the famous Walk of Fame. After actor Willem Dafoe (68), hip-hop mogul Dr. Dre (59) and Marvel star Chris Hemsworth (40) were honored this year, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has now announced the so-called Walk of Fame class of 2025. Some well-known artists will soon receive their star.
Prince, Jessica Chastain and Colin Farrell are honored
Among those immortalized on the sidewalks of Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street in the future are the musician Prince (1958-2016), who died in 2016, acting legend Jane Fonda (86), as well as the Hollywood stars Jessica Chastain (47) and Colin Farrell (48).
All in all, 30 new stars will be awarded in categories such as film, television and radio. In addition to those already mentioned, cult director John Carpenter (76), actor Emilio Estevez (“The Breakfast Club”, 62) and Freddy Krueger actor Robert Englund (77) will also receive a star from the film sector.
From the TV sector, Fran Drescher (66), known from the sitcom “The Nanny”, who led the strike of the US actors’ union SAG-AFTRA last year, Lauren Graham (“Gilmore Girls”, 57) and the “South Park” creators Trey Parker (54) and Matt Stone (53) are among those honored. In the music sector, in addition to Prince, rapper Busta Rhymes (52), the punk rock band Green Day, Depeche Mode and Nicole Kidman’s (57) husband Keith Urban (56) will also receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In the sports entertainment sector, football star David Beckham (49) will be honored.
After the selection has now been made, the honorees have up to two years to set a date for the ceremonial unveiling of their star.
