Three dozen stars are to be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame next year. Among those chosen are Jane Fonda, Colin Farrell, Keith Urban and, posthumously, Prince.
A great moment for three dozen stars: filmmakers such as Jane Fonda, Jessica Chastain, Colin Farrell, Emilio Estevez and John Carpenter are among the 36 chosen to be honored with a star on the “Walk of Fame” in Hollywood in 2025. The singer Prince, who died in 2016, will be celebrated posthumously next year, the organizers announced.
Other musicians whose names are immortalized in the cement slabs of the famous sidewalk include country stars Keith Urban and George Strait, as well as bands such as Depeche Mode, The B-52s, Green Day and The Isley Brothers.
Television stars to be honored include Fran Drescher, Bill Nye and “South Park” creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone. In the sports entertainment category, British soccer player David Beckham and US baseball player Orel Hershiser will be honored.
The new candidates were selected from hundreds of prominent contenders. The dates for the unveiling of the plaques have not yet been announced.
The “Walk of Fame” with over 2,700 stars has been honoring achievements in show business since 1960. The sidewalk on Hollywood Boulevard, into which the star-shaped plaques are embedded, runs right through the center of Hollywood.
