After many failed relationships – most recently with Olga Korotyayeva – Sean Penn now seems to be happily single.
Sean Penn (63) is “excited every day” to be single and has apparently sworn off romance altogether. The actor, who has been married three times and in relationships with several prominent women, said this in an interview.
“I’m just free,” he gushed to the New York Times – and he never wants to give that up again: “If I’m in a relationship, I’ll still be free, or I won’t be in it, and I won’t be hurt. He doesn’t feel like romance will break my heart again.”
His first wife was Madonna
Sean Penn was married to singer Madonna (65) from 1985 to 1989. In 1996, he married actress Robin Wright (58), with whom he shares daughter Dylan Frances (33) and son Hopper Jack (30). After the divorce in 2010, he dared to marry again ten years later. But his marriage to Australian actress Leila George (33) also failed. She filed for divorce in 2021. The two-time Oscar winner also attracted attention through relationships with his colleagues Charlize Theron (48), Scarlett Johansson (39) and Olga Korotyayeva (44).
Looking back, Penn doesn’t seem to have very fond memories of some of these relationships. There were cases where “the first thing I see in the morning is eyes wondering what I’m going to do to make them happy that day.” He “rarely reciprocated.” In one of his marriages, he even felt like he was in a version of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.” He was “dying.” “I felt my heart and brain shrinking. It was an attack.”
He no longer has any desire for such “drama in romance” and therefore avoids “unnecessary drama and visits from the trauma gods”. His female acquaintances have shown him that “relationships do not have to be dramatic or stressful”.
