Alanis Morissette got some sweet support for her hit “Ironic.” Her daughter Onyx sang with her at a concert in Nashville.
Canadian-American singer Alanis Morissette (50) gave her eight-year-old daughter Onyx a very special birthday present. At her concert in Nashville, she brought the girl on stage – and sang her mega hit “Ironic” together with her daughter.
Audience sang birthday serenade
The audience had already sung “Happy Birthday” to the birthday girl. Then the mother-daughter duo sang Morissette’s most famous song. At first, Onyx warbled with a somewhat reserved voice, but became more and more powerful during the duet. The special moment was marked by a sweet photo of her daughter looking up at her with a microphone in her hand. The eight-year-old wore a pink shirt and cheetah-print pants, while her mother combined a blue shirt with leather pants.
The 50-year-old captioned the photo: “Birthday angel girl moment. Singing ‘Ironic’ together. I love you so much Onyx, you are my dream daughter.” Morissette also reposted a video on her Instagram story showing the touching performance.
Morissette became a star early: she was only 21 years old when her first international album “Jagged Little Pill” was released in 1995 and conquered the charts worldwide. She has been married to rapper Souleye (44) since 2010 and the two have three children. In addition to Onyx, they have sons Ever (13) and Winter Mercy (4).
