Thomas Gottschalk would like to get married one more time. He has secretly become engaged to his wife Karina.
After Thomas Gottschalk (74) was divorced from his ex-wife Thea Gottschalk (78) in May, the German presenter legend has become engaged to her partner Karina Mroß. The 74-year-old explains: “Before I accidentally let it slip, or before the wrong people make it a point, I’ll announce it myself: Yes, I’m engaged!”
Blunder during the proposal: Thomas Gottschalk forgot the ring
According to the report, he proposed to her during a short trip. And even if not everything went as planned, Gottschalk and Mroß are now engaged. “While I was practicing kneeling – my biggest concern was not being able to get back on my feet afterwards – I noticed that the engagement ring was missing,” says the entertainer. He had forgotten the ring in the hotel safe.
His years of show experience probably helped him to master the situation. “I quickly made a ring out of candy wrappers and then slipped it over Karina’s finger,” recalls the former “Wetten, dass..?” presenter. She “still said ‘yes’ when I asked her if she wanted to be my wife.” The wedding is planned for next year.
In 2019, the separation of Thomas and Thea Gottschalk became public. A little later, the presenter appeared in public for the first time with his new partner Karina. “Thea and I are amicably and legally divorced,” – and added jokingly: “We ask that you refrain from donating wreaths and flowers. We have been separated for five years, so you really can’t say that we rushed.”
