Notice periods for temporary workers will be extended

After one and a half years in a company, the rules for employees will apply in future. In addition, temporary workers in industry now receive what is known as the reference wage from day one and not only after the trial period. The Chamber of Commerce and the Pro-Ge union announced this in a joint broadcast.

Employer and employee representatives have agreed that the notice period for temporary workers will increase from two weeks to three weeks in 2023. With an uninterrupted employment relationship between twelve and 18 months, it will be four weeks in the future. During this period, the last day of the working week is considered the termination date.

Thereafter, the same notice periods apply as for employees. The 15th or last of the month is then the date of termination. In addition, an aggregation of service periods at the same or affiliated company was agreed that was not interrupted for more than twelve months.
