“Elvis” star Austin Butler unsuitable?: Rushed through “Hunger Games” casting

His role as the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll in “Elvis” earned him an Oscar nomination and a Golden Globe, but Austin Butler (32) was apparently not suitable for another prestigious role at the time. In an interview, the boyfriend of model Kaia Gerber (22) revealed which casting he flopped at.

In one, the actor was asked to name a film he auditioned for that no one would expect today. “I auditioned for ‘The Hunger Games,'” he says. “And I didn’t understand it at all, but I don’t even think I got a call back. What was the character? Peeta,” Butler recalls.
