Roland Kaiser in Erfurt: Pop star next to Pope in the Golden Book

Today, June 28th, Roland Kaiser is stopping off in Erfurt. Beforehand, the pop star signed the city’s Golden Book.

Under the motto “50 years – 50 hits”, pop icon Roland Kaiser (72) is currently on his big tour to mark his 50th stage anniversary. This evening he will set off a firework display of his greatest hits on the cathedral square in the Thuringian state capital Erfurt. Beforehand, Erfurt’s master craftsman Andreas Bausewein (51, SPD) invited him to the town hall’s ballroom, where the singer signed the town’s Golden Book.

Pope and Emperor in the Golden Book

The mayor began the ceremony with humorous words. “The first person to sign up was the Pope,” said Bausewein. “Then presidents, Olympic champions, kings… and now the Kaiser.” Roland Kaiser, a member of the SPD like the mayor, was touched and said: “Thank you for this invitation and honor. This city has a lot to thank you for as mayor.”

: “I arrived safely in Erfurt and was able to sign the city’s Golden Book. What an honor!” He then went straight to the concert venue.

“I’m not even thinking about quitting”

As “Bild” further reports, he left the following message in the Golden Book: “I wish all the citizens of Erfurt happiness and eternal peace.” On the sidelines of the ceremony, Kaiser expressed hope that he would be able to give many more concerts. “I’m not even thinking about quitting, that’s not an option for me,” said the singer. “My children have all left home. I love what I do and I’m healthy – so I’ll carry on!”
