On Instagram, Helene Fischer had fueled speculation about who she sings her new single with. Now it is clear: It will be a Spanish song – with Luis Fonsi.
German pop star Helene Fischer (“Atemlos”) announces a Spanish song in a duet as a new single. The song “Vamos a marte” with Luis Fonsi will appear in two weeks, as it was called today on Fischer’s website.
It’s the day after her 37th birthday. The new title is translated as “Let’s go to Mars”. The singer wrote on Instagram: “Dear ones, I’m really excited to be able to tell you today about my first single from my new album. We’ll finally start on August 6th, 2021! I love this song – with none other than the great Luis Fonsi! ” In 2017, Fonsi landed the global hit “Despacito”, which is still the most successful summer hit in terms of chart placement in Germany today.
Since yesterday Fischer had been on Instagram in her so-called story under the question “Who sings with me on my new single?” brought some names into play including Udo Lindenberg, Lena, Ed Sheeran, Udo Lindenberg, Shawn Mendes, Justin Timberlake, Lady Gaga, The Weeknd, Capital Bra and Florian Silbereisen.
Fischer has often appeared together with Fonsi, for example in her Christmas “Helene Fischer Show” in 2018.
