Jamie Foxx: Mysterious illness started with headaches

Hollywood star Jamie Foxx (56) shares more details about the mysterious illness that put him in the hospital in April 2023. The actor spoke about the beginnings of his health problems in a video shared by “The Art of the Dialogue” on X (formerly Twitter).

“I don’t remember anything”

In the clip, Foxx told a group of people gathered around him at a sidewalk cafe in Phoenix that he had a “bad headache.” That was the last thing he remembered. He snapped his fingers and said, “I was gone for 20 days. I don’t remember anything.”

At the hospital, they explained to him that he was in Atlanta and that his sister and daughter had taken him to the doctor. “They gave me a cortisone shot,” he told the woman next to him. “The next doctor said something was going on up there,” he said, pointing to his head. But he didn’t want to say what exactly “on camera,” which made the audience laugh. “But it was…” he said, shrugging his shoulders before the video ended.

The Oscar winner has previously spoken about how his sister Deidra saved his life during his health crisis, sharing a caption that read: “Without you, I wouldn’t be here… If you hadn’t made the choices you made, I would have lost my life.”

Back to work

The actor has now returned to work. He is working on several films, including “Tin Soldier” and “Not Another Church Movie,” and he is once again hosting the game show “Beat Shazam.” He had to miss the sixth season because of his health problems. He has also announced that he wants to process his difficult times in a stand-up show.

Details of the medical emergency Jamie Foxx suffered in April 2023 are not known. “I didn’t want you to see me with tubes sticking out of me – wondering if I was going to make it,” he said three months later in an Instagram video. He said he had been “through hell” in the last few weeks.
