Godrèche filed her complaint against Jacquot in February, shortly after she began speaking publicly about her relationship with the director of Farewell, My Queen in the 1980s, which she says began when she was 14 and he was 40. Following Godrèche’s revelations, Julia Roy filed a complaint for sexual assault against the director and Isild le Besco filed a complaint for rape of a minor over 15 years old. The alleged assaults took place between 1998 and 2007.
Jacquot was detained by police on Monday for questioning. Speaking to reporters, Jacquot’s lawyer said he was allowed to return home on Tuesday.
Director Jacques Doillon was also arrested.
