The original drama series of HBO, House of the Dragonrecorded record audience figures over the weekend in Max and brought the platform its largest single-day audience to date.
In anticipation of the new season, the first episode was highly viewed in the week leading up to the second season premiere, garnering an audience of one million, the highest number of views for the title in over 19 months.
The premiere of the second season of House of the Dragon attracted 7.8 million viewers in the United StatesThe first season premiere drew 10 million viewers during a similar time. That episode had the largest audience for any new series in HBO history, with all episodes ultimately averaging 29 million viewers across all platforms.
In Latin Americathe season premiere broke streaming viewing records on Sunday, with more than 30% growth in views compared to the first season premiere, making it Max’s biggest launch in the region.
In Europe, House of the Dragon has scored the biggest second season premiere on WBD’s streaming services.

What is House of the Dragon about?
House of the Dragon takes place about 200 years before the events in “Game of Thrones”tells the story of House Targaryen.
In this second season, following the coronation of King Aegon II and the death of Queen Rhaenyra’s son, House Targaryen is split in two. In Kings Landing, Aegon II rules from the Iron Throne, supported by Alicent and the Green Council, under the protection of the greatest dragon in Westeros. From exile on Dragonstone, Queen Rhaenyra and her Black Council consider their next move. Civil war looms as both sides seek the support of the great houses of Westeros and ultimately amass armies… and dragons.
