Joe Biden has been a fine president, but it’s time for him—in the interests of the America he so clearly loves—to announce he will not run for re-election.

King has long been vocal about his opposition to Donald Trumpand on Sunday he wrote that “the French right is falling out of favour despite the polls. Let us hope the same happens to Trump and his cronies who bury their heads in the sand.”
But their concerns about Biden, following his dismal performance in the June 27 debate, reflect anxiety in the Democratic Party and among longtime donors and supporters that the president could defeat his predecessor in November.
Entertainment personalities call for Biden to step aside
On Sunday, the director Rob Reiner called on Biden to drop out of the race. Major donors and industry supporters, the screenwriter Damon Lindelof and Reed Hastings (with founder of Netflix), also want the president to step aside.
Biden called into Morning Joe this morning and insisted he would stay, claiming that calls for him to step down are coming from party elites, comparing them to the enthusiastic crowds he has been receiving on the campaign trail.
