Heinz Hoenig (72), who is in poor health, is still in hospital. He is still waiting for another operation, but his wife Annika Kärsten-Hoenig (39) is the rock at the side of the actor, who has been in the clinic since the beginning of May. She published a short clip on Instagram showing how she helps her husband with physiotherapy.
Physiotherapy and kisses
In one story, Kärsten-Hoenig can be seen doing exercises on one arm and one leg with her husband. At the end of the clip, there is a kiss. She writes: “What we can’t do alone, we can do together!”
A few days ago, she recalled the couple’s first kiss together and explained that the two are currently climbing their “personal ‘Mount Everest'”. “Six years ago today we kissed for the first time,” wrote Kärsten-Hoenig. “Six weeks later we were engaged and have been going through life together ever since.” She assured that the two “set out together and will never stop. And even if we fall down now and then, we always help each other up and keep going.” The goal is “to be reunited as a family one day and be able to go home.”
The actor, whose esophagus was removed after an infection and an operation, also needs to undergo surgery on his aorta. According to information from Hoenig’s manager Birgit Fischer-Höper on July 5, his condition is unchanged. He therefore needs to be artificially ventilated and fed. Hoenig is weak, but conscious and responsive. It is currently not possible to predict when the operation on the aorta can take place.
