The acting couple Marisa Abela and Jamie Bogyo are engaged. The two announced this with a sweet photo and three videos.
Marisa Abela (27), who played Amy Winehouse (1983-2011) in the 2024 biopic “Back to Black”, will marry her boyfriend, West End theater actor Jamie Bogyo, after four years of relationship.
Bogyo announced the news, starting with a photo of the British actress beaming as she holds up a red rose and her engagement ring to the camera. He jokingly captioned the post: “She said she would think about it!”
The photo was followed by a video in which the two are kissing in a tight embrace. A second clip shows how their loved ones surprise them at home after this special moment. In the third video, there is another kiss for the applicant, who seems very relieved.
While Marisa Abela has yet to comment on the news on her own social media account, she commented on his post. “A tearful mess,” she wrote.
Engagement after cinema success
The engagement news comes just months after Abela impressively portrayed the late singer Amy Winehouse in the 2024 biopic Back to Black. “I’m really excited. It doesn’t feel like I’m singing,” she said.
“When you embody a character, you do what you have to do,” she continued. “And that’s my job as an actress, to embody her in every moment of her life and to be able to tell the story in every single moment of her life.”
She continued to rave about Amy Winehouse, who died of accidental alcohol poisoning in 2011 at the age of 27: “How unique she was as an artist, how authentic, as a songwriter, one of the most incredible poets,” said Marisa Abel.
