Cool gadgets 2024: 10 trends to cool down in summer

When temperatures soar, everyday life in non-air-conditioned rooms becomes torture. To prevent you from sweating too much, we present you ten cooling gadgets.

1. Mini USB fan

When temperatures reach dizzying heights, there’s no point in opening the window: it would just let in hot air. If you have to sit at your desk all day, the oppressive heat will really get to you – that’s why a cool breeze blowing around your nose can work wonders. This is possible with a mini fan that blows fresh air around your nose.

2. Cooling gel pad

The heatwave is particularly felt by those who live in attic apartments. The rooms heat up so much during the day that they are far too warm at night. To help you get to sleep, you can use a cooling gel pillow. Put the mat in the fridge for half an hour, then put it on the pillow or inside the pillowcase.

3. Cooling multifunctional scarf

Sometimes it is unavoidable that you spend the whole day outdoors despite the high temperatures. Here, the risk of the heat going to your head is particularly high. To avoid sunstroke, you should take a cooling multifunctional scarf with you. The effect is activated by getting wet or by wringing and shaking it out and lasts for up to four hours. It doesn’t matter whether you use it as a towel, scarf or head covering.

4. Ice block beverage cooler

When temperatures rise to dizzying heights, ice cubes melt away in seconds. This makes it particularly difficult to enjoy a cool drink in the sun – unless you have a drinks cooler. The pre-made mold is filled with water and frozen in the freezer, the finished ice block can then be placed over all the bottles in a drinks crate and cool the contents.

5. Gel face mask

Many people tend to suffer from tension and headaches in high temperatures. This may be due to the oppressive heat or to restless sleep caused by the warm air in the room. In both cases, a cooling gel face mask can help. Place the mask in the fridge or freezer for half an hour and then put it on your face – after just a few minutes you will notice the pleasant cold relaxation.

6. Cooling mat for pets

Dogs and cats also suffer from the scorching heat when temperatures are high and seek refuge in the shade. If you want to do something good for your pet and help it regulate its body temperature, purchasing a cooling mat (combined cooling gel and foam) is extremely useful. The self-cooling pad works without any electricity – and is only activated when it comes into contact with the body.

7. Garden shower

On hot summer days, a garden is worth its weight in gold. If you want to enjoy the beautiful weather in your own green space, but at the same time long for a refreshing cool down, we recommend a garden shower. The movable and height-adjustable water dispenser can be set up in just a few minutes and can provide you with cool water outdoors – both in the garden and on the terrace.

8. Portable mini fridge

If you spend a lot of time in the car or in the office, you’re probably feeling the full force of the heatwave. To keep a cool head, you should drink plenty of fluids – but that’s not so easy if you don’t have a refrigerator on site, for example. We recommend a mobile mini-fridge with four liters of storage space, which you can easily and conveniently connect to the power outlet or the socket in the vehicle.

9. Outdoor atomizer

Have you ever stood in front of the vegetable shelf in the supermarket for a while, which is kept cool with the help of a fine atomizer? You can also bring the same effect home or into your garden: The steam nozzles can be attached under the awning or to the parasol outdoors – the fine cloud of microscopic water droplets can cool the immediate area by up to 11 degrees.

10. Ice cream machine

Everyone loves ice cream: last year alone, we consumed an average of 8.3 liters of ice cream per person. And 2020 will certainly be no different. Nevertheless, we are still annoyed by the rising prices per scoop of ice cream, so why not make your own? On the one hand, you can use all the ingredients you like best. On the other hand, you can stock up to survive the hot days.
