One of the most sought-after actors today, Paul Mescaland the ever reliable and legendary Denzel Washington star in the first trailer for the movie ”Gladiator II”sequel to the original from 2000, directed by Ridley Scottwho reprises his role behind the cameras.
The long-awaited film will premiere on November 22, where in addition to Mescal and Washington, it will feature the presence of Peter Pascal, Joseph Quinn and the return of Connie Nielsenthe Danish actress who played Lucille, the sister of Commodus (Joaquin Phoenix), daughter of Emperor Marcus Aurelius (Richard Harris) and love interest of Maximus (Russell Crowe).
Set several decades after the events of the first film in ancient Rome, ”Gladiator II” focuses on Lucius (Mescal), the grandson of the former Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius and now the adult son of the emperor Comfortablewho resides with his family in Numidia. After ending up in slavery following an invasion led by the Roman general Marcus AcaciusLucius follows the inspiration of Maximus and competes as a gladiator.
“Remember Lucius, war will consume you,” a voiceover warns at one point in the trailer as swords are drawn in preparation for brutal gladiatorial duels. The trailer also shows Pascal wearing Marcus Acacius’ sandals.

Earlier in July, the first official images of ”Gladiator II” by Vanity Fair, revealing the protagonists in their long-awaited roles.
The cast of Gladiator 2 will also include: Derek Jacobi, Lior Raz, Peter Mensah, Matt Lucas, May Calamawy, Chi Lewis-Parry, Alexander Simkin, Mike Parish, Jean Carbonaro, Ross Donnelly and Alex Gasperetti.
