History of Casa Trias, the only private mansion in Park Güell
Casa Trias bears this name because it was commissioned by Martí Trias i Domènech, the lawyer and close friend of Eusebi Güell, after acquiring the land in the park.
On the other hand, the relationship between Gaudí and Güell is not coincidental. Eusebi’s family were the ones who provided most of the patronage that the architect received.. This is how a triangular bond was created between the Trias, Güell and Antoni Gaudí families. In fact, when the latter died after a tragic accident on the train tracks, it was Martí Trias’s son – who was studying medicine at the time – who identified his body.
