The phenomenon of reproductions on Youtube, Plim Plim, The beloved clown is coming to the theatre this Saturday with the show “Energía musical”. With only 6 years since its creation, it is the most watched children’s animation channel globally, it is available in six languages and has 23 billion views per month.
This show, which lands at the Belgrano Auditorium, has already been presented in 55 cities in 8 countries and was seen by more than 85 thousand people. It was part of the “Kidzapalloooza” line up in Argentina and Chile and has a recital format. We spoke with its creator, Guillermo Tita Pino.
Journalist: How has the business model changed in these 6 years? What is the impact of views on the YouTube channel?
Guillermo Tita Pino: Youtube sells advertising and gives a percentage to content creators like us. The more views, the more advertising and from that we collect a percentage. There are channels that have millions of views and they don’t monetize because the content is not suitable.
Q: How have children changed in recent years in terms of networks and screen use?
GTP: We believe that the use of screens has to be in an appropriate measure, excesses are not good and we are working on screens for training, developing a module for 2025 that will measure the attention deficit of children. And another module that will help children to train in reading and writing in such a way that the emotional bond they have with Plim Plim will serve parents and professionals to have a parameter of their attention capacities and learn or reinforce what they learn at school.

Q: It is interesting to use the time that children spend in front of the screen to teach and not just leave them as mere passive consumers.
GTP: We are developing two modules, one to measure attention deficit with games for children, they will not realize it but they will take a test that we will give to psychopedagogists and neurospecialists. The other program is about reading and writing to help schools and if they do not go to school, they have basic notions to read and write.
Q: What is the difference between connecting to Plim Plim on screens and in the theatre?
GTP: The connection in the theater is fantastic, we tour Latin America, we have been in 8 countries, this year in 12 and the reception has been great from the family. It is an international level play with Argentine production and we are happy about the repercussions from Uruguay, Panama, Mexico, we are selling out everywhere.
Q: What is the key to the event?
GTP: I think it is because we promote positive values, from camaraderie, being generous, learning to share, caring for the environment. We have songs that are successful thanks to the message.
