Special anniversary gift: Roland Kaiser can hardly wait to hold a letter with his own stamp in his hands.
Special gift for his 50th stage anniversary: Pop star Roland Kaiser (72) is getting his own stamp collection. “As a former telegram messenger in my younger years, I would never have believed that I would be given the great honor of receiving my own special stamp from Deutsche Post on the occasion of my 50th stage anniversary. I am already looking forward to the day when I will hold a letter with my own stamp in my hand for the first time,” the singer himself said about the gift, according to a press release.
Since no living people – with the exception of the Pope and the Federal President – are allowed to be depicted on official stamps in Germany, the four different stamp designs each feature the name of one of Kaiser’s famous hits and his signature. “Santa Maria”, “Why didn’t you say no?”, “Love can save us” and “To love you” made it onto the differently colored stamps in purple, orange, blue and red.
“Kaiser Postfiliale” in the Cologne Stadium
Fans can order the special and limited stamp sheet either online or by phone from the Deutsche Post shop. The stamps each have a postage value of 100 cents. This can be used, for example, to frank compact letters within Germany. The stamp sheet will be available from July 13th.
On this day, a concert of his “50 Years – 50 Hits” anniversary tour will also take place in Cologne’s Rheinenergie Stadium to mark the artist’s 50th stage anniversary. During the performance in Cologne, fans will find a “Kaiser Post Office” in the stadium area, where the stamps will also be sold.
Particularly exciting for stamp collectors
This should be of particular interest not only to fans of the pop singer, but also to passionate stamp collectors: the limited stamps are the first stamps ever that Deutsche Post is allowed to issue on its own due to a provision in the licensing agreement with the Federal Ministry of Finance.
