England is in football fever: The European Championship final against Spain will take place on Sunday. The English celebrities are keeping their fingers crossed for their Three Lions.
On Sunday at 9 p.m. the European Championship final between Spain and England will take place in Berlin’s Olympic Stadium. Of course the English celebrities are already getting ready and crossing their fingers for their team, which wants to bring the very first European football championship title in the history of the Three Lions back to the island. In a BBC series, for example, music star Ed Sheeran (33) also has his say, who even supported the team live in the stadium at the semi-final in Dortmund. “I just think that everything is coming together at exactly the right moment,” says Sheeran, explaining his high hopes.
“I can’t wait. It’s coming home, good luck guys!” Sheeran continued. Actress Kate Beckinsale (50) is also supporting the English national team. Wearing a Three Lions jersey, she even re-words the Lord’s Prayer. With folded hands, she prays: “Give us our victory today and forgive us for our criticism of our tactics!” Musician Sam Smith (32), singer and actress Amanda Holden (53) and rapper Little Simz (30) also expressed their support for Gareth Southgate’s (53) team in short videos.
Prince William comes to Berlin for the finale
The English national team is considered to be an underdog in the final against the Spanish, but many experts still give them a certain chance of winning: Despite a weak start to the tournament, captain Harry Kane’s (30) team improved continuously and put in a particularly convincing performance in the semi-final against the Netherlands, winning 2-1. Among others, the British heir to the throne, Prince William (42), is expected to attend the final at Berlin’s Olympic Stadium. He is a huge football fan and is also the president of the English Football Association (FA). The Spanish King Felipe VI (56) is also expected to attend the final in the German capital.
