It is an appearance that not only tennis fans are happy about: Princess Kate attended the men’s final at Wimbledon. It is only the second time in seven months that the 42-year-old, who is suffering from cancer, has appeared at an official event. In June, Kate took part in the birthday parade for King Charles III. At Wimbledon, Prince William’s wife was greeted with great applause. She watched the match between Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic from the royal box, with her daughter Charlotte and sister Pippa sitting next to her. Kate has been patron of the “All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club”, which hosts the competition, since 2016 and has not missed a tournament so far.
At the end, as in the previous year, she was able to hand over the winner’s trophy to the Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz. He won in three sets against record Grand Slam winner Novak Djokovic.
