The Eras Tour: Piano breakdown at Taylor Swift concert in Milan

In front of thousands of fans in Milan, Taylor Swift’s piano doesn’t want to do what she wants. But the megastar is still in a joking mood. After a few moments, the instrument was repaired.

An unexpected glitch briefly threw a wrench into US megastar Taylor Swift’s plans during a concert in Milan: When the 34-year-old wanted to accompany her song “Getaway Car” on the piano on the second evening of her “Eras Tour” in the northern Italian metropolis on Sunday, the instrument didn’t work properly. As could be seen on videos on social media, Swift and a crew member fiddled with the lid of the flower-painted piano to the applause of her fans.

According to media reports, Swift initially started singing the song, but stopped after one line when a chord sounded wrong. “We finally broke this thing!” Swift joked as she looked under the lid. After a few moments, however, the piano was repaired. Swift closed the lid and shouted to her fans: “Oh, I did it!” She was then able to sing the song with piano accompaniment to cheers.

Taylor Swift is currently making a stop in Europe with her record-breaking “Eras Tour”. German fans of the megastar – known as “Swifties” – can also look forward to several concerts in Germany. Starting Wednesday, Swift will be giving three concerts in Gelsenkirchen (July 17 to 19) and will then tour on to Hamburg (July 23 and 24) and Munich (July 27 and 28). Her fans in Gelsenkirchen in particular are already in Swift fever: at the beginning of the month, the city began putting up signs with the word “Swiftkirchen” written on them.
