What is Trust, the Disney+ miniseries, about?
The series takes as its starting point the family anecdote that takes place in Rome in 1973, when the youngest of the Gettys, one of the most powerful families in the United States, is kidnapped by members of the Italian mafia who are looking to make money by collecting a huge ransom. Unfortunately for them, however, no one seems to understand why the Getty family does not want to rescue and bring back home this prestigious young prisoner.
Complicating matters further, the local police believe it’s all part of a practical joke and decide not to pursue the case any further. Paul’s father is lost in his heroin addiction, his grandfather is isolated in a mansion in the English countryside where he lives with his five lovers, and the only hope seems to be his mother, who is bankrupt.
