The divorce is not finalized yet. Nevertheless, Oliver Pocher now wants Amira Pocher to take her old surname again.
Oliver Pocher (46) would like his still-wife Amira Pocher (31) to take her old surname Aly again. The comedian said this in the latest episode of his podcast “Die Pochers! Frisch recycled” (exclusively on Podimo) on July 19th.
Now that Amira has found a new partner in “taff” presenter Christian Düren (34), the comedian is “basically in favor of her changing her name back to her original name,” he says to his ex-wife Alessandra Meyer-Wölden (41), his co-podcaster. But that is “always a tedious discussion with many women,” he says. Meyer-Wölden then asked directly: “Why is that so important to you?”
Name Pocher “is of course a brand”
His answer: “Because basically all women say: ‘I want to have the same name as my children.’ That’s always the standard argument. But your name isn’t the same as our children’s first name, it’s your last name. To be honest, the last name is so interesting to everyone because it is of course also a brand.”
The name Pocher is “of course something different than the name Aly,” he explains. “That’s why Cathy Hummels is called Cathy Hummels and not Cathy Fischer.” The names Barbara Becker (57) and Natascha Ochsenknecht (59) were also mentioned in this context.
Alessandra Meyer-Wölden: “I wanted to separate it very clearly”
For ex-wife Alessandra Meyer-Wölden, however, it was no problem to take her old surname again after the divorce in 2014, even if their children continue to bear the name Pocher. She “didn’t want to discuss it at all” with Oliver Pocher. “It’s still my free choice. Why should I continue to bear your name? I wanted to keep the two very clear. I find it interesting that some women find it difficult.”
He hopes for “Amira’s common sense” in the future, but at the same time emphasizes that he hopes that things will continue to go well for her – even without his “famous” surname.
