Bruce Springsteen: The “Boss” is now a billionaire

He first appeared on stage in 1965. Almost 60 years later, Bruce Springsteen has earned over a billion dollars with his music.

At 74, he still tours and plays three-hour shows. Bruce Springsteen is a workaholic. In around six decades, the “Born in the USA” cult musician has amassed a considerable fortune: the American estimates this at 1.1 billion dollars.

It was only in 2021 that the singer sold his music catalog to Sony Music, earning $500 million for his life’s work alone. Springsteen’s media representatives have not confirmed Forbes’ estimate (as of July 19).

In 2023 alone, it generated $380 million in sales

In 2023, Springsteen’s world tour sold more than 1.6 million concert tickets and generated $380 million in revenue. Over the course of his career, the father of three has topped the music charts with 21 studio albums, seven live albums and five EPs and sold over 140 million albums worldwide. His memoir “Born to Run” dominated the New York Times bestseller lists. After 236 sold-out Broadway performances, 20 Grammys, an Oscar, two Golden Globes and a special Tony Award, he has earned a place in both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

Is the musician overworking himself?

It was only in May that Bruce Springsteen revealed to his fans that he would have to interrupt his tour again because, after consulting a team of doctors, he was advised “not to perform for the next ten days”. A few months earlier, last September, the “Boss” postponed all remaining concerts in 2023 to 2024 as he recovered from a stomach ulcer. Springsteen & E Street Band are currently touring Norway and England. Further concerts are planned until mid-2025.
