Whoopi Goldberg: This is how crazy she buried her mother in Disneyland

Whoopi Goldberg recently revealed in a talk show the strange and forbidden way in which she buried her own mother in Disneyland.

Whoopi Goldberg chatted about her life with talk show host Seth Meyers last week to mark the release of her memoirs “Bits and Pieces: My Mother, My Brother, and Me.” The 68-year-old actress opened up about her life. One story in particular was fascinating.

Goldberg recounted how she once illegally scattered her deceased mother’s ashes at Disneyland in Anaheim, California. The well-known actress’ mother, Emma Harris, died of a stroke in 2010. She loved Disneyland during her lifetime and that continued to be her passion post-mortem. Goldberg packed the ashes in a bag and went to the amusement park.

Whoopi Goldberg: Sneezing fit on “Small World” tour

In “Late Night With Seth Meyers,” the actress told a strange story and faithfully imitated her concept at the time. She went on the “Small World” ride. A dark canal tour in a boat, through various themed worlds with dolls. Miniature worlds, so to speak. She also explained why she chose this ride: “When I was a child, the World’s Fair was held here and ‘Small World’ was introduced,” she said. “She loved ‘Small World’,” said Goldberg about her mother.

During the canal trip with other guests in the boat, Goldberg secretly took a handful of ashes from her bag every now and then. Then she held them in front of her face, towards the doll worlds on the sides, and sneezed artificially but forcefully into her hand, so that the ashes spread around the room. She did this again and again, justifying her behavior to the passengers with the words: “My God, this cold is getting worse and worse.”

Finally, “we got to the flowers that say ‘Disneyland’ and I just thought, ‘Oh, look at that,'” she again scattered some ashes. But then she felt guilty and wanted to make sure she hadn’t hurt anyone with her actions. She went to a park ranger and confessed her illegal actions. “Actually, I wanted to make sure I hadn’t done anything dangerous. It hadn’t occurred to me, but there’s a reason they don’t want the ashes just flying around.”
