Taylor Swift performed in Gelsenkirchen for three evenings. The singer apparently has only good memories of that time – as she expressed in a post.
The English football fans who had the dubious pleasure of visiting the Veltins Arena during the European Championships had few good words to say about the city in the Ruhr area afterwards. “Gelsenkirchen is a total disaster,” mocked fans, and one video blogger even called it an “absolute shithole.”
Taylor Swift played three evenings at the Veltins Arena
Taylor Swift’s memories of her three-day stay in the Ruhr metropolis are completely different. The US singer performed in the arena from Wednesday to Friday of this week and played to a sold-out crowd. Now she has spoken about her stay and had only warm words: The audience on the three evenings in Gelsenkirchen was “unique”, wrote the 34-year-old on Instagram, and thanked them in particular for the numerous signs and paper hearts that the fans brought with them. In the post, she shared several pictures from the shows in the arena.
At the same time, Swift thanked everyone who supported her album “The Tortured Poets Department”, which was released in April. “I am completely overwhelmed by what you have done – it was number 1 in the first twelve weeks of release, and that has never happened to an album of mine, not even close!” she wrote proudly.
She will not be leaving the country for the time being. As part of her “The Eras Tour,” Taylor Swift will be giving four more concerts in Germany. She will be giving two concerts in Hamburg on July 23 and 24, then she will be heading to Munich, where she will be performing on July 27 and 28. The singer already has her next stops in mind: “I can’t wait to see you all in Hamburg next!” she ends her post.
In August, the program includes stops in Warsaw, Vienna and London. The “Eras Tour” will not end until December 8th in Vancouver – it will be the 152nd concert of the tour.
