The second in line to the British throne is almost a teenager. A photo that the palace published on his birthday was – as is often the case – taken by his mother Kate.
Britain’s Prince George is celebrating his eleventh birthday. In a black and white photo released by Kensington Palace for the occasion, he can be seen wearing a white shirt and dark jacket. He looks casual with a chain on his arm.
The second in line to the British throne looks up at the camera while sitting and smiles. The caption on X reads something like: “Prince George, happy birthday today!” The eldest son of heir to the throne Prince William (42) and his wife Kate is almost a teenager. He has two younger siblings, Princess Charlotte (9) and Prince Louis (6).
The photo, as is often the case, comes from George’s mother, Princess Kate, who is a passionate amateur photographer. The 42-year-old was diagnosed with cancer. She has been undergoing chemotherapy for months and is currently putting her duties for the royal family on hold.
Kate’s passion for photography has already gotten her into trouble
Only recently did she begin to appear in public again, for example at the Trooping the Colour birthday parade for King Charles or at the final of the tennis tournament in Wimbledon.
Her passion for photography has already caused problems for Kate: In March, several news agencies, including the German Press Agency, withdrew a photo taken of her because of suspicions of manipulation. There were several minor inconsistencies in the image. The Princess of Wales later apologized for “experimenting with image editing.”
