Lena Meyer-Landrut was supposed to perform in Stuttgart and Luxembourg on Friday and Saturday. Due to health problems, these shows have now also been cancelled. Lena is struggling with severe pain cramps.
Singer Lena Meyer-Landrut (33) has now also cancelled the remaining two concerts this year, on Friday in Stuttgart and on Saturday in Echternach in Luxembourg. Her team announced this in an Instagram story.
The team posted an audio message from the singer to her fans: “It breaks my heart and I wish so much that I didn’t have to record this. But as you may have seen in the slide before, I also have to cancel the remaining shows this year for health reasons,” says Meyer-Landrut.
Lena has to “pull the ripcord”
On Sunday, the singer “ended up in the emergency room for the third time in the last few weeks with severe pain cramps,” she said. “And every time it hits me, my crew, the band and of course you fans totally unexpectedly. And every time it’s a shock that isn’t nice for anyone.” She therefore had to “just pull the ripcord here.” At the end, Meyer-Landrut thanked and apologized to the fans. She is now taking a “short break” for her health.
Not the first rejections
The winner of the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest had already cancelled several concerts in the past few days and weeks, some shortly before they were due to begin. At the beginning of July, the 33-year-old had to cancel performances in Munich and Wangen im Allgäu at short notice due to health problems. Her fans were worried.
“I wasn’t feeling well during the day, and then in the evening I got cramp-like stomach and kidney pains, had to throw up shortly before the show started and was then taken to a hospital,” the musician told her fans on Instagram at the time.
After a few days’ break, she announced that she was “slowly getting back on her feet”. Meyer-Landrut is currently on tour with her new album “Loyal to myself”. In the past few days, she played concerts in Plauen and Wolfsburg. She then canceled planned performances in Ansbach and Regensburg.
