Cher will publish the first part of her memoirs in the fall. Details about the content and release of part two are also available.
US singer and actress Cher (78) will look back on the most important stages in her life in her memoirs. “Cher’s extraordinary life can only be told by one person: Cher herself,” announced the responsible publisher Dey Street Books and published the book cover with an old black and white picture of Cher and the release date. The “Believe” singer obviously has a lot to tell, because the memoirs will be published in two parts.
“Cher: The Memoir, Part One” will be released on November 19th, followed by “Cher: The Memoir, Part Two” in 2025. The book will show Cher as “the daughter, the sister, the wife, the lover, the mother and the superstar,” according to “People” in the book announcement. “It’s a life that is too big for a single book.”
Cher’s memoirs “honest and humorous”
As “The Hollywood Reporter” reports, the content continues: “After more than seventy years of fighting for a self-determined life, Cher finally reveals her true story in intimate detail in a two-part memoir.” With Cher’s “trademark honesty and humor,” the book describes in detail “how this diamond in the rough managed, with no plan and little confidence, to become the groundbreaking superstar the world has known for more than half a century.”
The first part is said to revolve around “her extraordinary beginnings from childhood to meeting and marrying Sonny Bono”. It reveals “the highly complicated relationship that made her world famous but ultimately drove them apart”. Cher founded the duo Sonny and Cher with musician Sonny Bono (1935-1998) and was married to him from 1964 to 1975.
In 2017, Cher had already hinted that she was writing her memoirs. Last year, she told the Hollywood Reporter that she was almost finished with her work.
