From Cordoba, The direct route to Punta Cana – announced to begin operating in September with two weekly frequencies – will add two more frequencies, also starting in January. This way, this route will have four weekly flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
In the case of flights to Punta Cana from Rosario, Tucumán and Córdoba, these can be boarded from Aeroparque as a domestic flight, with a stopover and immigration in these cities. The flight will continue to its destination with the same aircraft, so passengers will only have to disembark to register their departure from the country, and will be able to continue to their destination. The same will occur on the return trip, with the possibility of ending the journey at Aeroparque.
“This expansion is part of the plan we have designed to increase the company’s productivity with a strategic programming design, which consists of placing flights where we see an opportunity to grow the business. The addition of more efficient and profitable aircraft to the fleet expands our possibilities to operate and add routes in a much more competitive way,” Lombardo said.
Catalán commented that “the opening of direct flights from the interior of the country is an initiative that strengthens international connectivity and drives economic and tourism development, particularly in my province. With each step, Tucumán continues to grow and improve its connection with Argentina and the world, opening up new opportunities for everyone.”
Mogetta said: “We welcome the new air connections promoted by Aerolíneas Argentinas, which add to the efficiency that the company is promoting and the transformation that we are driving for the air sector. With the open skies policy and the deregulation of the air system, we are working to generate the ideal conditions to expand competition and provide more connectivity to all Argentine provinces.”
Last week, Aerolíneas Argentinas incorporated a new zero kilometer B737-MAXthe third so far this year, and the twelfth in the company’s fleet. These aircraft can cover domestic and medium-range regional routes, and their acquisition was key for the company to increase frequencies and compete with better equipment on the routes to the Caribbean from Córdoba, Rosario and Tucumán.
