Prince Andrew wants to get rid of his ski chalet – to finance the process

Legal fees for Prince Andrew are set to skyrocket in the coming months. In order to be in good financial shape, the Duke of York is said to be in the process of selling the expensive ski chalet in Switzerland.

The luxury ski village of Verbier in Switzerland has been a popular retreat for Prince Andrew, Sarah “Fergie” Ferguson and their daughters, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice in recent years. Now Andrew is reportedly planning to sell the family’s chalet there.

Prince Andrew wants to sell ski chalet

As the British newspaper “The Mirror” reports, Andrew is pushing the tube when selling the luxury property. He has wanted to get rid of the chalet for some time, but now the pressure is getting bigger. Because the legal fees that the Duke of York will face are likely to be huge. But it’s not just the defense that wants to be paid.

If Andrew is convicted, he could face damages of around three million euros. It is also possible that Andrew and the possible plaintiff, Virginia Roberts Giuffre, will come to an out-of-court settlement. Then a large amount of money could be discussed. Andrew needs to be prepared for this eventuality. That way he would get rid of a lot of money, but at the same time avoid a lawsuit.

The Queen does not support him

“He pays for all costs himself and therefore has to find money quickly to pay the ever-increasing bills,” an insider told the “Mirror”. “If there was a chance to come to an agreement, that would be an option, but there is no doubt the queen would not support him,” the source said.

Andrew is expected to bring in around 17 million pounds for the ski chalet in Switzerland. He and ex-wife Fergie bought it in 2014 for £ 16.6 million. Virginia Roberts Giuffre accuses the Royal of sexual abuse. Prince Andrew has repeatedly and firmly denied the allegations made against him by Giuffre. Because of the allegations and his previous contacts with the convicted sex offender Epstein, however, he gave up his royal duties and largely withdrew from the public.
