After achieving a record-breaking start for an R-rated film, Marvel’s latest continues to break new ground with daily box office earnings.
Deadpool & Wolverinestarring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackmanhas surpassed the $550 million mark at the global box office. Ticket sales stand at $261 million in North America and $284 million worldwide, bringing its worldwide total to $545.8 million after just five days of release.

In the United States, the film earned the highest Tuesday gross ever for an R-rated film (and the 13th biggest of all time) with $25.3 million. A day earlier, the film posted the highest Monday gross for an R-rated film with $24.4 million. So far, Deadpool & Wolverine It is the fourth largest US release of 2024 behind Inside Out 2 (US$615 million), Despicable Me 4 (US$293 million) and Dune: Part II (US$282 million).
Outside of the United States and Canada, the top-grossing territories for Deadpool & Wolverine are China ($30.5 million), the United Kingdom ($27.7 million), Mexico ($23.4 million) and Australia ($15.2 million).
Deadpool & Wolverine in search of new records
At this rate, Deadpool & Wolverine is on track to become just the second film this year and only the second R-rated film in history to reach $1 billion worldwide. It currently ranks as the fifth-highest-grossing film worldwide of 2024, behind Inside Out 2 ($1.5 billion), Dune: Part II ($711 million), Despicable Me 4 ($680 million) and Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire ($567 million).
Shawn Levy directed Deadpool & Wolverine, which is a necessary triumph for Disney’s Marvel Cinematic Universe. While the comic book giant remains in rarefied air in terms of commercial appeal, recent titles like Eternals, The Marvels and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania have stumbled and raised questions about the franchise’s long-term viability.
