This film premiere became a family affair: Matt Damon had six female companions for his new film.
Matt Damon (53) is not only a sought-after actor and Oscar winner. He is also a proud husband, father – and son. He proved this at the premiere of his new film “The Instigators” in New York City. In tow on the red carpet was not only his wife Luciana Barroso (48), but also his four daughters and his mother Nancy Carlsson-Paige (80).
Damon posed for the photographers with his six ladies. The daughters Isabella (18), Gia (15) and Stella (13) are from Damon and Barroso’s marriage, which began in 2005. They brought their now 24-year-old daughter Alexia into the relationship.
It was no coincidence that the film premiere became a family affair. While Matt Damon plays one of the two main roles in “The Instigators,” his wife also had a major role – away from the camera: “She actually produced this film. So she was very actively involved in this film, but I just trust her,” joked Damon.
He got the role thanks to his wife
In fact, Barroso had persuaded her husband to take part in the heist comedy. “She is one of those people whose taste I trust completely – like Casey and Ben [Affleck, Anm. d. Red.]”, Damon continued to rave. It is no coincidence that he mentions the Affleck brothers in this regard. Many years ago, he and his friend Ben Affleck (51) rose to the ranks of Oscar winners thanks to “Good Will Hunting”. And with his younger brother Casey, who himself has an Academy Award thanks to the drama “Manchester by the Sea”, he now appeared in front of the camera for “The Instigators”.
In the film, Damon and Affleck play an unlikely duo who are after a politician’s ill-gotten fortune. The film will be shown for a short time in selected US cinemas on August 2nd. It will then be available to all subscribers of the streaming service Apple TV+ from August 9th.
