She sings about love and suffering and has experienced it first hand: singer Adele. The pop queen, who currently resides in Munich, looks back on a failed marriage, an unequal affair and her current partner.
Adele will be staying in Munich for four weeks to perform several concerts. The singer will perform a total of ten times in the temporary arena that was built especially for her and is located on the grounds of the Munich Trade Fair.
The ultra-modern stadium has a capacity of around 75,000 people, all of whom want to listen to Adele’s songs. There is an experience world with food and drinks on site, and her songs gave the stalls, such as a drinks stand called “I Drink Wine”, their names. Many of Adele’s songs are about love, including “I Drink Wine”, about which she once revealed that there was an unofficial but apparently very important person in her life: “I wasn’t with anyone. There was someone I loved, who I wasn’t in love with, but who I really liked, and had been for years, but I couldn’t pretend that I wasn’t stuck in my own storm.”

Adele looks back on a failed marriage with Simon Konecki, with whom she has an eleven-year-old son named Angelo. The marriage failed just a year after the wedding, which took place in 2018. Adele admitted afterwards that she was staying away from new relationships because she could not commit emotionally again after the divorce. A phase of life that is reflected in the song “I Drink Wine”.

The English news portal “Mirror” quotes the singer as saying about this time in her life: “I couldn’t really commit myself. I couldn’t be consistent and neither could he. It wasn’t right to end the marriage and then go out again a year later. Even if you feel ready, it’s a gaping, open wound, whether you leave or are left.” One reason why Adele couldn’t have the relationship that her man wanted with her “I Drink Wine” liaison at the time. Adele also said that she was very glad that she had been open and honest with the man, who was unknown to the public, at the time: “… otherwise I would have found myself in a situation that I did not want to be in after the end of my marriage,” said the 36-year-old. After her divorce from Simon Konecki, the singer began dating officially again and met sports super-agent Rich Paul. The couple made their relationship public in 2021, and it is reported that Adele and Paul are said to have married in 2023 – although this was never confirmed.
What Adele particularly appreciates about her boyfriend or husband Rich Paul is his intelligence and sense of humor. She said: “He’s just hilarious. Oh, he’s so funny, he’s hilarious, yes. And very clever. You know, he’s very, very clever. It’s pretty incredible to watch what he does.” And she also explains that a lot has changed in her too, which seems to be good for her relationship with Paul: “It’s the first time I’ve loved myself and been open to loving someone else and being loved by someone else.”
