Will Smith wanders through a deserted Zurich – the scenario reminds the star of one of his films, which will soon have a sequel.
Will Smith (55) was stranded in Zurich at the weekend – and thought it was great. The Hollywood star is wandering through Switzerland’s largest city – all alone. No wonder, because Will Smith is on the road at 5.30 a.m. on Sunday. His plane was not allowed to take off on Saturday, so he had to stay the night in Zurich, says the “Bad Boys” star. “It’s beautiful! I will return,” he wrote in the clip.
It’s not often that he can walk through a city undisturbed, Smith enthuses. He enjoys the peace and quiet, which is only interrupted by a bird. He marvels at the swans in the water and the pocket knives in a shop window. “Swiss pocket knives in Switzerland, you understand?” he says, laughing into the camera.
Will Smith did not initially reveal where he was going during the stopover in Zurich. On Instagram, he appeared in an elegant outfit. In the Spanish coastal town, he attended a gala organized by the charity Fundación Starlite.
Memories of “I Am Legend”
The deserted city reminds Will Smith of one of his best films. “I have flashbacks of ‘I Am Legend’,” he reveals. In the 2007 end-of-the-world film, he played virologist Robert Neville, who is apparently the last survivor to wander through a depopulated New York.
The actor immediately goes into “I Am Legend” mode. He goes in search of Fred, a mannequin from the film, and briefly acts out a quote from the sci-fi thriller.
It is certainly no coincidence that Will Smith is thinking of “I Am Legend”. A sequel to the box office hit is currently being planned. Already announced for 2022, “I Am Legend 2” is slowly taking shape, as Michael B. Jordan (37) revealed in June. The “Creed” star plays the lead role in the sequel alongside Will Smith.
Spoiler alert: Will Smith’s character Robert Neville actually died a heroic death in “I Am Legend”. But the sequel is said to be based on an alternative ending that can be seen on the DVD of the 2007 film. In it, Neville survives, as he does in the novel by Richard Matheson (1926-2013), which has been adapted several times into a film.
