Billy Ray Cyrus and Firerose: Their divorce is finalized

The US singer Billy Ray Cyrus (62) and his ex Firerose (35) are divorced ten months after their wedding. On Monday morning (5 August) the court of the state of Tennessee sealed the end of the turbulent marriage. The father of pop star Miley Cyrus (31) had already filed for divorce in May, and the couple subsequently made serious public accusations against each other.

“The craziest scam I’ve ever heard of”

Now the ugly divorce is over. The “Achy Breaky Heart” singer and Firerose – born Johanna Rose Hodges – have signed and sealed the relevant documents in Tennessee. It is said that the two agreed to the agreement in a meditation on Friday. The Australian singer will not receive a single dollar from her ex. But Cyrus will waive his claims to royalties for songs they wrote and released together. According to the site, Firerose had officially changed her last name to Cyrus – and the father of six children believes that she married him for this reason alone.

“This is absolutely the craziest scam I have ever heard of. Not to mention the fact that I am in the middle of it and basically the target of the scheme,” Cyrus said in a statement. He had previously accused her of defrauding him of around 90,500 euros by making unauthorized payments on his credit card.

She, on the other hand, claimed that she had had access to several of his credit cards since 2022 and had never received a limit from him. She then accused her ex of “unpredictable and volatile” behavior that amounted to “extreme verbal, emotional and psychological abuse.” The singer claimed that Cyrus’ behavior was influenced by his “ongoing drug use, coupled with the use of marijuana.”

He, in turn, stated that it was actually Firerose who abused him and threatened to ruin his career if he divorced her.

Billy Ray Cyrus wanted to have the marriage annulled

The father of pop star Miley Cyrus (31) and Firerose, who is 26 years younger, say they have known each other for 14 years and met on the set of “Hannah Montana.” In 2021, they started making music together, which developed into a love affair. The couple got engaged in August 2022, and they married in October 2023. In May 2023, he filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences and inappropriate marital behavior as the reason for the separation. He also filed for an annulment of the marriage on the grounds of fraud.

It was Cyrus’ third marriage. Before that, he was married to Cindy Smith from 1986 to 1991. After that, he was married to Tish Cyrus (57) for 28 years, with whom he has three children. He also adopted her two children from a previous marriage.
