Mourning for Luca Schaub. The actor, who was a member of the Berliner Ensemble, has died. He was only 36 years old.
The Berlin theater actor Luca Schaub (1988-2024) is dead. He died “on August 2nd at the age of only 36 after a short, serious illness in Berlin.” Schaub was a member of the theater from 2013 to 2017. No cause of death was given.
Four years at the Berliner Ensemble
Schaub, who was born in 1988 in Langenhagen, Lower Saxony, studied acting at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz from 2010 to 2013. He then joined the Berliner Ensemble, which was then led by Claus Peymann (87). Here he was seen in Peymann’s productions of “Kafka’s Trial” and “Prince Friedrich von Homburg”, among others. Leander Haußmann (65) cast him in “Woyzeck”, “The Robbers” and “Hamlet”.
Under the direction of Oliver Reese (60), Schaub lost his engagement and worked as a freelance actor in the federal capital. Among other things, he performed at the Tipi at the Chancellor’s Office as well as at the Neuköllner Oper and the Komische Oper Berlin. Theater director Leander Haußmann describes the deceased as a completely unsuspecting and enthusiastic actor. Schaub was therefore an ensemble player who was able to infect everyone with his “extreme enthusiasm”.
