At the celebration on Sunday evening, Cruise abseiled from the roof of the Stade de France and received the Olympic flag. After a short run through the crowd, the 62-year-old Hollywood star then raced through Paris at night with the flag on his motorbike. But why Cruise and why such a stunt?
The next Summer Olympics will take place in 2028 in Los Angeles, not only the home of Cruise himself but of Hollywood. And so the symbolic handover of the baton was of course not without a little Hollywood glamour and action.
