In addition to his club tour, Bausa has a few new projects in the pipeline. “I want to be close to the crowd again,” promises the rapper.
Bausa (35) is one of the most successful German rappers of recent years. He celebrated his breakthrough in 2017 with his track “Was du Liebe nennst” and catapulted himself to the top of the charts. Since then, the man from Bietigheim-Bissingen has been an integral part of the German music scene.
In February 2025, the 35-year-old will go on a major club tour through Germany, Austria and Switzerland. “The tour is going to be really strong. After all the big shows, it’s now time to go back to the small clubs,” says Bausa happily. With “Twist my Song” together with Oreo, the rapper is currently trying to encourage his fans to make unusual decisions that motivate them to be more spontaneous and try new things in everyday life. To do this, he has remixed his hit “9 Bis 9” in various genres. Bausa himself also wants to remain open to new things and break out of his routines more. “When ‘The Voice’ asks, I immediately sit down on the chair,” laughs the rapper in an interview.
Why did you decide to go on club tour again and what can fans expect?
Bausa: The tour is going to be really strong. After all the big shows, it’s now time to go back to the small clubs. Back to the roots, like with my first big show, the “Dreifarbenhaus” tour in 2017. I want to have that personal feeling again, where everything was much more real and you could really feel everyone in the audience. I want to be really close to the crowd again. And I think the fans want that too.
What other plans do you have for this year?
Bausa: I still have a lot planned for this year. My new album is of course at the top of the list. I’m also working on one or two new projects. One of them has to do with football.
What does a typical day look like for you when you have no obligations?
Bausa: When I’m not stressed about making decisions and have no obligations, my day looks like this: I get up, make myself a coffee and then go to the gym. After that, I either hang out in the studio, work on new beats or take care of private things. Even as an artist, you have to go to the dentist or visit your mom, grandma and grandpa sometimes. Just a normal life.
We make an average of 35,000 decisions a day – most of them unconsciously. When was the last time you broke out of your routine and tried something completely new?
Bausa: I recently went paintballing for the first time – it was something completely different and really fun. I more than just escaped, I can only recommend it.
With “Twist my Song” and the genre mixes of your hit “9 Bis 9” you want to encourage your fans to try new things in their everyday lives. What are things that you would like to integrate into your everyday life?
Bausa: Oh, that’s a really good question. I’ve thought about maybe cycling more, but somehow I’m still a long way from that. I’m sure I’d enjoy riding a motorbike – I’d really like to do that too.
At the beginning of the year you beat the actor and musician Emilio Sakraya in “Schlag den Star”. That was also a new experience. Would you like to appear on TV more often?
Bausa: I wouldn’t just relate that to TV. If there’s a cool show or idea, I’m always on board. Whether it’s on TV or in other projects. I’m on board if I really enjoy it. It just has to be the right fit.
Would a job as a judge on “The Voice” or “DSDS” be something for you?
Bausa: If “The Voice” asks, I’ll sit down on the chair straight away. I think it would be great to support the people and see what they can do.
