The series Supacell was renewed for a second season on Netflix. The show has been a hit for Netflixone of the biggest to come out of the UK in some time, and has dominated Top 10 charts around the world for the past few weeks.
It is still in several global top 10s several weeks after its launch. Netflix has just released news of the new service launching on X.
What is Supacell about?
The debut television series of Rapman It is set in modern-day South London and follows a group of five ordinary black people united by a family history of sickle cell anaemia. They suddenly develop superpowers and are hunted by a secret organisation intent on controlling them.
Supacell was created by Blue Story director Rapman and directed by Sebastian Thiel. It stars Tosin Cole, Jessica Magaye, Ricardo McCleary-Campbell, Saraphina Mattis, Melissa Simon-Hartman, Cleo Young and Micheal Ademiluawho are part of the Supacell Six group.
Mark Hedges is the series producer for Supacell and Sheila Nortley is the producer and associate producer for Block2. Geraldine Hawkins is the co-producer. Rapman is the executive producer along with Anna Ferguson and Steve Searle for Netflix. Mouktar Mohammed of New Wave is also an executive producer; his colleague Henrietta Lee is an associate producer.
