Dr. Dre: Qualification for the 2028 Olympics?

After his performance at the final of the Olympic Games, the rapper wants more: he now wants to compete as an athlete himself.

After the Olympics is before the Olympics. That is the thinking of none other than rapper and music producer Dr. Dre (59), who is already training for the 2028 Summer Olympics, which will be held in his city: Los Angeles. The American has fully announced his intention to take part.

“I’m fucking serious,” says the rap icon (“Nuthin’ But a G Thang”) in conversation with Nischelle Turner (49) from “Entertainment Tonight”. After the Olympic Games in Paris ended with performances by Dr. Dre with colleague Snoop Dogg (52), Billie Eilish (22) and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, among others, the musician wants to do more than just stand behind the microphone next time. “I’m trying to take part in the 2028 Olympic Games,” announces Dr. Dre.

Dr. Dre’s desired discipline surprises

Would he like to compete in breakdancing/breaking, which would fit in with his musical passion? No. His answer is surprising. “Archery,” says the 59-year-old and emphasizes: “I’m really serious. Yes.”

Dre then reveals that he has been an archer for decades and was part of a team in junior high school. Although he lost interest for a while, he is now shooting with great joy again thanks to his son, who gave him new equipment. The rapper has set up the target in the garden of his property and is training hard. It remains to be seen whether Dr. Dre is really serious about this and will then perhaps actually be able to take part.
