Marie-Luise Marjan broke her femur in a fall. The “Lindenstraße” actress remains confident.
Marie-Luise Marjan (84) is currently recovering from a serious injury. The actress, who played Helga Beimer in the series “Lindenstraße” for 35 years, says that she fell in the theater on June 7. She fell “really badly” and broke her femoral neck.
“I was operated on immediately. That was a blessing in disguise. My nerves and blood connections remained intact,” explains the 84-year-old. She is currently still in a rehabilitation clinic in Bad Driburg to fully recover from the fall.
“In half a year I’ll be running like a deer again”
For Marjan, the daily training at the facility is a new experience. “For the first time in my life, I trained on machines; I had never been in a gym before. I’m changing that now,” she says. After all, she wants to see quick results: “In six months, I’ll be running like a deer again.”
Marie-Luise Marjan played in the German soap opera from the first episode of “Lindenstraße” in December 1985 until it was canceled in March 2020. At the same time, she was cast in various other television productions, but also lent her voice to Queen Lillian in the “Shrek” movies, among others. Since the end of “Lindenstraße”, the Essen native has given readings and can still be seen on TV, for example in “SOKO Stuttgart”.
