Rapper Thomas D had to go to the hospital after an insect bite. Now the all-clear has been given: he will be back on the road in a few days.
There was great concern after the legendary rapper Thomas D (55) from the Fantastischen Vier reported from the emergency room on Tuesday after an insect bite. In a short video, he said that he probably had sepsis and would know more in an hour. But then his Instagram account suddenly remained completely quiet until Wednesday evening. He had the worst night behind him and everything was OK so far, said the visibly ailing Thomas D, also via Instagram. The fever had also gone down. He would be back on the road in a few days.
However, he would have to cancel his planned performance with the Hamburg jazz band The KBCS on August 15 in Jena. He also thanked everyone for their get-well wishes. He understood that he had to get in touch after many fans were seriously worried about him. Many had already called him and asked how he was. But now he should be left alone, he wanted to sleep, said Thomas D, exhausted but with a wink.
On Tuesday morning, the musician had already shown his fans a huge bump on his left arm in a short video on Instagram. At that point, he was apparently still in a joking mood and commented on his post with the words “Below the elbow. Something stung me yesterday. The insect should please contact me, otherwise I’ll be really angry.”
Sepsis after insect bite?
A few hours later, another video of the rapper followed, this time from the emergency room of a hospital, in which he told his fans that he had been waiting for three hours to be examined by a doctor. After his wait was obviously over, another video followed. In the clip, the musician was seen with a black splint on the affected arm and gave the following update: “Fuck you… I’ll know what I have in an hour. But probably sepsis and an animal that stung the bursa, so we have to immobilize the arm now. Wow…”
