Music: US star Usher postpones further concerts due to injury

Just a few hours before the start of the tour, Usher had cancelled his planned opening concert in Atlanta. Now he has to postpone further performances – due to an injury.

Due to a neck injury, US singer Usher (“Yeah!”) has to cancel further concerts at short notice. He injured his neck at the beginning of the week during rehearsals for his concert series, the R’n’B musician announced on his social media channels. At first he had hoped to be fit again in time for the start of the tour with physiotherapy and medical treatment. But now the doctors have instructed him not to perform this week, explained the 45-year-old.

Usher described the doctors’ prognosis that he would be able to start his tour next Tuesday (August 20) in the US capital Washington as “good news”.

Just a few hours before the planned start of his world tour “Past Present Future,” Usher canceled the first concert in Atlanta, Georgia, on Wednesday. His body needed a moment “to rest and heal.” The singer said he would reschedule the concert and then be there for his fans at 100 percent. Now two more concerts in Atlanta, which were planned for Friday and Saturday, have been canceled. The singer plans to reschedule all three performances in December.

Concerts in Europe also planned

Dozens of performances in the USA and Canada are on the tour calendar until mid-December. From the end of March 2025, the “Past Present Future” world tour will then continue in Europe, including in London, Paris and Amsterdam. The R’n’B musician has also planned three concerts in Berlin at the beginning of May.

Last year he played eight concerts in Paris, and before that he last toured Europe in 2015. Last February he performed at the Super Bowl halftime show and his new hit “Coming Home” was released.
